Embracing Change & Championing Mentorship

Life can be a rollercoaster, can’t it? I recently managed to have a long-overdue lunch with a dear friend, a plan that took six months to realize. Life kept getting in the way, but we finally made it happen. That lunch was a turning point, making me reflect on how much my life has transformed. At 40, I’ve reached a point where I’m simply tired of people’s nonsense.

For too long, I’ve been a pleaser, saying yes when I wanted to say no, and performing out of obligation. I allowed stress to creep into my life through unhealthy habits, but now I’m reclaiming my power. If someone treats you poorly, it’s time to cut them out. People will treat you how they truly feel about you and how you allow them to. My health scare was a wake-up call, prompting me to reevaluate everything.

One crucial lesson I’ve learned as a business owner is that my expertise is valuable. Many of us, especially those who genuinely want to help, tend to undercharge and give away our value. But charging for my expertise isn’t about greed; it’s about sustainability. I’ve realized that an office space isn’t necessary because it conflicted with my original vision: to be present for my family. With my husband serving in the military, my life is a balancing act between two homes, and my presence with my children is my priority.

My true calling is mentorship and connection. I’m still here to help you help others, connecting people through my publications and networking directory. I’m also continuing to offer grant writing, reviews, notary work, consulting, and more. I’m here to help others find their why and cut out what doesn’t serve them. It’s about offering support as a choice, not an obligation.

I urge you to stop settling for less. Evaluate where you’re spending your energy. Grade your clients, set boundaries, and charge for your expertise. Your value lies in your thinking, judgment, and ability to guide others. I’ve stepped away from unnecessary commitments because my presence at home is what truly matters.

If you’re feeling stuck, take a hard look at your life. Are you living for someone else’s expectations? Are you silently suffering in roles that don’t fulfill you? It’s time to make waves. Reclaim your power. Find your purpose and live it unapologetically.

I’m living proof that self-care sometimes looks like saying goodbye to what doesn’t serve you. I’m healthier and more focused on what truly matters, serving my family and community.

Join me on this journey of self-discovery and mentorship. Let’s find our why and embrace it fully. Together, we can create a stir in the soul and inspire change.
